-
Minutes of April May 15, 2009 were approved as reviewed and amended through email.
-
CARLI Report (Sharon Nelson):
- The Voyager Upgrade seems to have gone well.
- Registration is open for the Digital Preservation Workshop.
- The Team will be welcoming five new members: Sara Blaszazak – UIC, Barbara Brandt – ISU, Kati Donaghy – ERK, Lynette Fields – SIE, Missy Laytham – NPU.
- Many thanks to outgoing Team members JoAnn Hounshell, Tammy Schnell and Ted Schwitzner for their hard work and dedication.
-
IUG Report (Karen Whisler):
- A call for volunteers for the Cataloging Electronic Resources Task Force is forthcoming. IUG hopes that someone from the Acquisitions/Serials Team will volunteer to serve on the Task Force.
-
Old business:
- Anne Hudson has added questions and answers about fiscal period close to the FAQ. It has been suggested that we look through the ListServ archives to glean any persistent questions and add them to the FAQ – a task for next year’s team.
- Sharon Nelson reported it was interesting and helpful to hear all the reports of the other I-Share teams at the IUG meeting on May 22.
- Hudson reported that the HAQfest was successful. Lots of one-to-one conversation really reinforced that the registration needs to be kept small. Perhaps this could be offered twice a year. Having two facilitators might be useful.
-
New Business:
- Jen will be setting up the initial meeting for the new Team.
- Sharon asked if there was any follow-up from the upgrade. Everything seems to have gone fairly smoothly. Perhaps an open conference call in late August or early September after everyone has had time to work with the new clients will uncover persistent problems.
- Ted Schwitzner has been appointed to an ExLibris Task Force on Acquisitions and Serials. He hopes to contact the Team if he has “homework” for the Task Force that is appropriate to discuss with the Acq/Ser Team for additional input. Team members expressed interest in joining the discussion.
- Anne Hudson asked Tammy Schnell if she would be willing to be brought into discussions of EDI and Complex Publication Patterns that will probably crop up in the near future. Tammy indicated that she would be available.
- Sharon Nelson thanked Team members for the hard work and support and wished Christophe and Randy a good year. Team members expressed their appreciation for Sharon’s leadership and organizational skills. The Team had a very productive and rewarding year.
Meeting adjourned at 11:42
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Whisler
