Electronic Resources Working Group (ERWG) Meeting Minutes
August 9,2010. 1:30-2:05
Present: Christine Ross, Denise Green, Cindy Clennon, David Hamilton, Sandy Wenner, Anita Foster, Mary Konkel, Elizabeth Claridge, Linda Carlisle, John Blosser.
- Announcements- none.
- New Proposals – None this month. McGraw Hill Access Science coming next month.
- Continuing Proposals
- BioOne and BioOne2 – Declined to pursue due to low interest among ERWG and lack of comment about it on survey (especially in light of other priorities for new vendor agreements. )
- Old Business
- E-Resources Survey Responses
- Executive Summary – Christine and Cindy volunteer to write summary. They will send draft to ERWG members for comment.
- What to do with the data- ERWG will discuss in detail at the Sept. 13 meeting. Christine will assign teams of ERWG members to examine parts of the results to analyze for conclusions and areas to work on for the ERWG.
- Communication Plan – All agreed that a schedule of annual events about electronic resources and CARLI would be a good start for a communication plan. Cindy and David will bring a draft of such a schedule to the Sept. 13 meeting for comment.
- Self-Assessment- All discussed reviewing the ERWG charge at September 13 meeting. See http://www.carli.illinois.edu/comms/eresources.html
- New Business
- Record Keeping (SB 51 and Vendor Contact by Members)-brief discussion. In future ERWG members that have contact with vendors may have record keeping requirements of those conversations. The details of such a “paper trail” are largely unknown at this point.
- Set tasks for In-Person Meeting (Sept. 13, 2010 at Room 311G, ISU Milner Library, Normal, IL, 10:00 am-3:00pm)
