Decisions:

• Minutes of the March 16th meeting were approved prior to the meeting.
• The Board endorsed the shared funding model and purchase of the Sage Deep Backfile.
• The Digital Collections Cataloging Recommendation was approved.
• The Digital Collections Rights Statement was approved.
• The revised Digital Collections Development Policy was approved.
• The board approved the recommendations for funding CARLI Collections Awards for FY 2008.
• A Task Force comprising Collections Working Group members, volunteers and staff will be established and charged with developing a new model for the collection awards program for 2009 for consideration by the board at the July meeting.
• The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 PM.

Announcements:

• The CARLI Board Election opened May 14th.
• The Board thanked outgoing board members Mary Munroe and Kathy Walsh and outgoing chair Anna Maria Watkin for their service.
• The CARLI Finance Committee approved the preliminary proposed budget for FY  2008.
• Immersion ’07 Regional Literacy Immersion Institute will be held July 13-18, 2007 at Illinois State University in Normal. Applications are still being accepted.
• CARLI will host the ACRL Regional Scholarly Communication Institute, December 5-7, 2007 at the University of Illinois Chicago. Registration and additional information will be available soon.
• The CARLI Annual Meeting will be held Friday, October 26 in Champaign.
• The CARLI member survey final report is complete. Copies are being printed and bound for the Board and CARLI Governing member library directors. The final report from the focus groups is due May 31.
• The DCUG report Response (Report & Appendix) to the Digital Vision Task Force, was endorsed and the group was thanked for their work.
• The final report from the Statewide Serials Collection Task Force was endorsed. The group was disbanded and thanked for their work.

Tasks assigned:

• Notify members that FY2008 membership fees may be paid in FY2007.
• Publicize the subsidized purchase of Sage journal back files.
• Work with DCUG to publicize the revised digital collections policies.
• Staff will review the “Response to the Digital Vision Task Force” and direct recommendations to the appropriate groups.
• Staff will review the report from the Statewide Serials Collection Task Force and assign follow-up to appropriate groups.
• Notify members that invoices for CARLI membership, I-Share Assessments and/or database subscriptions may be requested for issuance before July 1st.
