Save the Date: CARLI Annual Meeting

Plan to join us on Friday, November 13 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Champaign. Staff at any CARLI member library is invited to attend. More information about the meeting will be available in August.

I-Share Next Update

The I-Share Next Task Force is still working on the specifications for the RFP for the product that will ultimately replace Voyager. The Task Force met with a UI Purchasing representative and State of Illinois Procurement Officer in July to make sure the Task Force’s evaluation plans comply with all regulations.

The ISNTF has two, two-day working meetings in July and August and has reserved dates for a third two-day session if needed. The Task Force will use those dates to edit the RFP and hold conference calls with other consortia and libraries that have recently gone through system selection processes. Work is still on schedule for the Task Force to submit a draft Request for Proposal to the CARLI Board for their September 2015 meeting.

Following the CARLI Board’s acceptance of the RFP, University of Illinois Purchasing and State Purchasing Officers will review it to ensure that it complies with all State policies. This formal review process can take several months or longer and we have allowed a year for this in the project timeline. On that schedule, the RFP would be released in 2016, a system selected in 2017 and implementation in 2018. All dates are subject to change.

I-Share Annual Statistics

CARLI staff have completed preparing the FY 2015 annual statistical reports package for I-Share libraries. I-Share library staff may download these reports from your library's CARLI FTP directory. CARLI compiled statistics for the reports using a date range of 7/1/2014-6/30/2015, inclusive. (Note: Some I-Share libraries also receive the Annual Statistical Package on an alternative fiscal year cycle. Those libraries will also receive this current set of reports.) The collection stat reports are snapshots, which are current as of the date at the top of each report.

For details and descriptions of each report, please view the "I-Share Annual Statistical Package" page. This page also includes tips for using the reports to fill out surveys from external state and national agencies.

CARLI staff have also compiled the I-Share consortial statistics. For I-Share-wide statistics and for more information about the Annual Statistics Package, visit the  "Current Statistics" section on the CARLI web site.

The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) is comprised of digitized collections created by libraries, archives and museums across the nation in a single platform and portal, providing open and coherent access to our society’s digitized cultural heritage.
