From the North
The drive to the CARLI Office from downtown Chicago takes about two and a half hours on a clear traffic day. Take I-90/I-94 East to I-57 South (Memphis, exit #63). Take I-57 for about 120 miles to I-74 East (Indianapolis, exit #237A). Drive about 1.5 miles on I-74 and exit at Prospect Ave. (Champaign, exit #181). Turn right (south) at Prospect Ave. and continue about 2.5 miles to Kirby Ave. (intersection with a light). Turn left on Kirby Ave. to State St. (.6 miles). Turn right on State St one block. The CARLI Office is located on the 3rd floor of Trade Centre Building on the east side of State St. Use the entrance on the west side of the building, under the black awning, and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The CARLI office, Suite 303 will be just to your right.
From the South
Take I-57 North to Curtis Rd (Champaign, exit #232). Drive about 2.5 miles on Curtis Rd to US-45. Turn left (north) at N. Dunlap Aveue /US-45 (intersection with a light) and continue about 2 miles to Kirby Ave. Note: Dunlap Avenue becomes S. Neil Street as you proceed North into Champaign.Turn left on Kirby Ave. to State St. (1 block). Turn left on State St one block. The CARLI Office is located on the 3rd floor of Trade Centre Building on the east side of State St. Use the entrance on the west side of the building, under the black awning, and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The CARLI office, Suite 303 will be just to your right.
From the East
Take I-74 west to Prospect Ave. (Champaign, exit #181). Turn left (south) at Prospect Ave. and continue about 2.5 miles to Kirby Ave. (intersection with a light). From the West
From I-74

From I-72
Take I-72 east and continue on University Avenue about 1.8 miles to State St. (intersection with a light). Turn right (south) on State St. and continue about 1.3 miles, one block past Kirby Ave. (intersection with a light). The CARLI Office is located on the 3rd floor of Trade Centre Building on the east side of State St. Use the entrance on the west side of the building, under the black awning, and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The CARLI office, Suite 303 will be just to your right.
Amtrak provides daily rail passenger service to and from Chicago and downstate Illinois. Fare and schedule information is at www.amtrak.com . Trains arrive and depart from the Illinois Terminal, 45 E. University Avenue in downtown Champaign.
Lincolnland Express and Illini Shuttle provide limited shuttle transportation to and from various points in Chicago and downstate Illinois to the University of Illinois campus and the Illinois Terminal in Champaign. Shuttle routes and schedules may vary according to the academic calendar.
Free parking is available for CARLI visitors in any of the unmarked spaces in the Trade Centre lot immediately west of the building, in any unmarked space in the large Trade Centre lot on the west side of State Street, or in any CARLI reserved space as noted on the Trade Centre parking map.
