Decisions:
- Minutes of the May meeting were approved prior to the meeting.
- Carla Tracy was elected CARLI Board Vice Chair/Chair Elect for FY 2007.
Announcements:
- The committee structure has been finalized for FY 2007 and volunteers solicited for vacant slots.
- Twenty-six responses have already been received to the CARLI membership solicitation. The substantial majority of these have selected the Governing Member option.
- The Board reviewed the progress of the new CARLI website design. Deployment of the design and navigation plan should begin in the near future. Addition of content will take place in a phased manner.
- Interviews for the new CARLI communications officer position will take place in August.
- CARLI has been selected to host the Summer 2007 ACRL Information Literacy Immersion Institute.
- Two new staff are being added to User Services: Lorna Engels began in July and Amy Maroso will start work in mid-August.
- Follow up work from the I-Share upgrade continues, and CARLI will soon install a Voyager software patch that is expected to resolve some outstanding incidents. The re-build of the universal catalog is also underway.
- The I-Share application period is now open for Summer, 2007 implementation.
- Saskia images are being reloaded into CONTENTdm, in order to make JPEG images the primary view. Further rounds of CONTENTdm training is being planned.
- Spring electronic resource brokering is now complete. This year, 107 CARLI members used the program and there are currently 911 individual subscriptions being managed through CARLI.
- Notification of the FY 2007 collection grant awards have been made.
- The September 15, 2006 CARLI Board meeting was rescheduled to September 29.
- 2006/2007 Board Meeting locations were selected: September 29 – Parkland College, November 17 – Illini Center, Chicago, January 12 - NIU, March16 – Parkland College, May 18 – Kankakee Community College.
Tasks assigned:
- The Board will be provided with a listing of staff contact information and a revised version on the Board contact information.
- Staff were encouraged to get basic information about the use and eventual costs of CONTENTdm out to the membership as soon as feasible.
- Staff were asked to send another communication reiterating the proposed CARLI membership, as a follow-up to the membership solicitation.
